Kanilehua is the name of a mist-like rain of Hilo, Hawai‘i which falls on the lehua blossoms. Kanilehua Enterprises began in Hilo while Hawaiian Artisans, Ku‘ulei Kuala‘au and Jonathan Irvine, attended college there.
We strive to learn the ways of the kupuna (ancestors) and utilize this ‘ike ku‘una (traditional knowledge) of weaving lauhala (pandanus) leaves to create unique pieces of jewelry to share with others, teach keiki, & help perpetuate the Hawaiian culture.
As Hawaiians, we seek cultural knowledge as our ancestors did. Kulia i ka nu‘u...strive for the summit.
Kanilehua Enterprises is a collection of Hawaiian style products which include lauhala items: handwoven bracelets, woven goldfilled and sterling silver bangles, gold and silver lauhala earrings, lauhala headbands etc. Based in Maui, Hawaiʻi, but available to ship products anywhere in the United States.
